"Be afraid neither of the world, nor of the future, nor of your weakness. The Lord has allowed you to live in this moment of history so that, by your faith, His name will continue to resound throughout the world."
Pope Benedict's words remind us that we were placed in this time- chosen for this time in history- to be ambassadors for Christ through our faith. Through our faith, "His name will continue to resound throughout the world." (emphasis mine) And how honorable, good and true that is!
We can spread the name of Jesus by living faith, no matter where we are in life. By being kind, loving, pure, honest and selfless. By serving others with joyfulness as Christ did. By standing up for what is good and just and not being afraid to speak out against what is wrong and unjust. By doing all of our tasks to the best of our abilities and by loving to our fullest capacity.
To persevere in these things is challenging, but God has given us the Rosary and the sacraments which strengthen us, unite us with Him and inspire us to do good.
He will never abandon us.
