Well folks, I finally have some more pictures from Ireland! When we weren't visiting with family, we were sightseeing. We visited the famous Cliffs of Moher, the breathtaking peninsula of Loophead, historical Coole Park and the city of Kilkenny.
It was my very first time seeing the Cliffs of Moher, and they were amazing!

After my uncle's wedding, we walked around
Kilkenny for a bit. We went to see the very famous Kilkenny Castle,
which was actually lived in until the 1930's. It wasn't much of a medieval castle, as it was restored to a more 19th century style on the inside.
I had some very dissapointed little brothers, haha! They were looking
forward to seeing a real castle where knights used to live.
We also visited the Black Abbey in Kilkenny (named such because it is run by Dominicans who used to wear a black mantle over their white habits) which was built in the 1200's. It was such a beautiful old church! It has the biggest stained glass window in Ireland inside of it.
(my camera ran out of battery so I had to use my iphone after the wedding, hence the bad quality pictures)

We drove all the way out to the west coast of Ireland to a peninsula called loophead. It was breathtaking! The water was so blue and it was quiet and windy and refreshing!

We also visited Coole Park which is where the estate of Lady Gregory used to be. Lady Gregory was a patroness of the arts in Ireland, and hosted many famous poets and writers at Coole Park. The most well known one was W.B. Yeats. The house is unfortunately demolished, but there are beautiful gardens (look at those fairyland trees in the pictures above!) and a little museum with facts about the family, their lives and the people they hosted.
Happy Sunday!
Absolutely beautiful! Recently I've been really itching to take a trip to both Ireland and Scotland to experience the gorgeous scenery, fantastic cultures, and wonderful people. Hopefully I will get to do that sometime soon! :) Thank you for sharing!
